Vantage is a high protein, high test
weight hard red spring wheat bred for high input production systems that
produces a hardy main stem and one strong tiller similar to Granite.
The stems are very sturdy and have heads that are uniform, highly fertile,
and densely packed with seed. Vantage is rated moderately susceptible
to leaf rust, moderately resistant to foliar disease, and resistant to stem
rust. Vantage is moderately susceptible to scab but in severely
scab-impacted environments, Vantage had 50% less scab than Granite.
Vantage is a free threshing variety with good shatter resistance. |
